Sidoarjo



Sidoarjo Mud Flood or better known as the Lapindo mudflow disaster, is the event at the site discharge of drilling mud Lapindo Brantas Inc in Hamlet Balongnongo Renokenongo village, Porong district, Sidoarjo, East Java, beginning on May 29, 2006. Mud volcano over the past few months led to the sinking of the settlement, agriculture, and industry in three districts in the vicinity, as well as the influence of economic activity in East Java.

Not only that, Lapindo has drowned many homes, so many families whose homes are affected by the mud displaced due to home is not possible to be livable again.
This event resulted in significant losses. Government set up a fund of Rp 500-600 billion to compensate residents of the two villages. Funds will be borne entirely by the government's planned changes taken from the State Budget (Revised) 2008, which was immediately discussed with the House.
